It’s a two-car trip when we venture out of the city as a family. I drove the Jolion with Keeley and Tiernan in the back. Tiernan hates travelling in the car but for once, he fell asleep. We almost made it to Imbil before we had to stop for a feed. Carl had packed us some fresh sandwiches to either eat on the road or when we arrived at Borumba. Keeley fed the baby while I wandered around stretching my legs and eating my sandwich.

Mount Cooroy (middle photo) rises to 422 metres (1,385 ft) above sea level. Access to the mountain is through private property and public access is only available once a year at the Cooroy Mountain Spring Festival.

Despite being fed and burped, Tiernan was not happy to go back in the car and screamed all the way into Imbil — only about half an hour, but it felt like half a century. My reflexes were tested on a long stretch of straight road. A B-double in front of me had his right hand indicator on for a couple of hundred metres and was slowing down.
