A Weekend in the Mountains
No more Europe in winter for me: it’s damn cold enough here!
Brrrrr! After an hour's drive, we arrived at Mount Tamborine at 2 pm, but check-in at the Airbnb we’d booked wasn’t until 3 pm, so we found a cafe to have a bite to eat. We managed to fill the hour with much talk of children and grandchildren. Bernadette has her first grandchild, and Liz has two: a boy and a girl. Both their daughters are the same age as Keeley — they all went to school together. It’s hard to believe we’ve been friends for over thirty years.
We walked next door to the Honey Shop and the Hemp Shop. Both are expensive, but I’d love a jar of mango honey. The hemp T-shirt I liked was $150! It’s a gorgeous fabric, but it’s still a T-shirt! Julie rang, “Where are you?” She was waiting at the house.
We managed to unlock the front door on the second try. I read the instructions. I did not touch the keypad. I hate them and they hate me! The house is huge. Only two bedrooms: one with a queen and a single…
