Lately, there are more and more studies being held to identify the factors that make us live longer and better lives. Aside from diet, researchers have found that a habit we share could be the key to extending life.

A team of researchers from Edith Cowan University in Australia held a study that shows that travel could have positive health benefits, including delaying the signs of aging.

This study is based on the theory of Entropy which is defined as the general tendency of the universe toward death and disorder. They suggest that tourism could trigger change. In other words, if positive experiences could reduce entropy and improve health, then negative experiences could contribute to increased entropy (tendency towards death and disorder) and compromise health, affecting and reducing longevity.

With this idea in mind, positive travel experiences could improve our physical and mental well-being by way of exposing us to new environments, participating in physical activities, increased social interaction, and the boost of positive emotions.

These potential benefits are now recognized through practices such as wellness tourism, health tourism, and yoga tourism. In general, these trips include physical activities such as hiking, climbing…
