Great Yarmouth, on the east coast of Norfolk, is a popular place for seagulls. Like many seaside resorts, there are numerous eateries selling chips and ice cream — the seagull’s favourite!

I am in the throes of writing my third book about a seagull and his hilarious gang, so a trip to Great Yarmouth, where some of the action takes place, was an important one. We were there to shoot some promotional pictures.

Work stuff aside, it is always fun to visit Great Yarmouth. I started visiting in my teens. Every time I go, I fondly remember a visit with my best friend when it rained all day. We still managed to have fun because there is so much to see and do.

If you ever visit Great Yarmouth, I highly recommend visiting the Time and Tide Museum — I usually visit in winter, and this is the perfect place to learn all about the town’s fascinating nautical history while sheltering from the cold north sea wind.
