Marylebone
Central London
Oh, what a glorious, sunny day today was! It’s warming up too.
So, I got out at Baker Street Station, and what did I see? Only the London Beatles Store! Get anything Beatles-related in there.
Next, the Sherlock Holmes Museum which opened in 1990. It’s actually at 221B Baker Street, his address in the books! Not really…it lies between 237 and 241 but the City of Westminster allowed it.
The Georgian townhouse in which it is situated was built in 1815. There was a series on TV in 1984, and it has some of the scenes from it. Do you remember the really old Sherlock Holmes films with Basil Rathbone? I used to watch them as a kid. I thought he was rather spiffing! He and that bungling fool, Watson.
I walked on past the museum, and in the corner in the distance, was Regent’s Park.
