New York City Never Sleeps. But Can Always Eat.

Now with “Steak Frites”!

Mean as the streets, avenues and subways of little ol’ New York City can be, its cuisine still reigns supreme. Case in point, Steak Frites a new French Bistro at 496 Ninth Avenue, between 37th and 38th Street naughtily nestled between Hell’s Kitchen and the Garment District.

Interestingly enough Steak Frites is located on the same block as the old school pork emporium Esposito Meat Market and not far from where the late great chef, author and travel show host Anthony Bourdain lived, pre-literary and Food Network fame.

And it is as if the Steak Frites’ proprietors used Chef Bourdain’s culinary tell all “Kitchen Confidential” as a guide book in regards to running a bustling French bistro in the rapid beating heart of New York City.

As evidenced on a recent rainy Thursday night when the always pretty, prompt and peckish Mrs. D. and I popped in (with a reservation of course) to kick off Easter Weekend.
