They used to have great pizza — photo taken by the author

Santa Lucia Pizza is known as one of the premier pizza places in our city; however, in the last year, it’s been mediocre.

They opened up a new location in Sage Creek, so we were redirected to that restaurant, and it doesn’t seem as good as their original location, which was close to downtown.

The restaurant isn’t big in case you were thinking of eating inside.

It’s more of a takeout place like many pizza joints nowadays…I’m looking at you, Pizza Hut.

Their location close to downtown is a huge restaurant with a beautiful upstairs patio and excellent food quality. This was supposed to be a thin-crust pizza, yet it’s not thin.

While it wasn’t exactly a thick crust, it disappointed me anyway.

They also never cut the pizza properly, and the reason was that it was spongy and hard, like a piece of cardboard.

It was tough to cut at home with a pizza cutter, so what does that tell you? It was not appetizing at all, and it turned me off.

Who wants to eat a pizza with a gross crust with raw bacon?

Last summer, we ordered pizza from there, and all our pizzas were not cut; they forgot! That was a nightmare as you’re not set up to cut your pizza, and we had ten people over.

I don’t think I’ll order from Sage Creek again, but I’ll still try the other location.
