Does Valentine’s make you just want to just get away? You’re not alone (pun intended). Over half of the trips booked on TourRadar in February are by solo travelers. Just like travel, Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be done with a companion. Why not take advantage of the holiday to celebrate some self love? Book an amazing solo travel adventure this year because you deserve it.

And besides…

But where should you go?

At TourRadar, we crunched the numbers to find the top trending destinations to go for solo travelers based on our booking data and expertise.

Top Trending Destinations for Solo Travelers

Georgia (increase of 540% in solo bookings year over year)

Georgia was one of our top trending destinations for solo travelers last year according to year over year bookings. As a budget-friendly destination with underrated food, the country is a perfect destination for solo trekkers.

Bhutan (+415%)

Recommended as a top destination to travel to 2020 by our travel experts, Bhutan has become a popular place for solo travelers looking to experience a less-frequented destination. It’s also the world’s only carbon-negative country.

Kenya (+266%)

As one of the best African destinations to take a safari, we saw solo bookings to Kenya increase significantly last year compared to 2018. Kenya has attracted safari enthusiasts for a long time but the touring industry has made it easier than ever to visit for even the less experienced solo adventurers.

Colombia (+159%)

Once thought of as a dangerous country, Colombia is now a top travel destination and the South American country’s popularity continues to rise for solo travelers. As G-Adventures puts it, “everyone wants to visit an undiscovered region before it becomes a hotbed of tourism” and time is running out.

Pakistan (N/A*)

Pakistan was listed in both Forbes and Conde Nast Traveler as a top destination for 2020 and we’re starting to see it in our solo booking numbers on TourRadar. According to our travel experts, the country has become a trending destination for female solo travelers.
