Egypt Crowned as Top Destination Outside of Europe Heading Into 2019

With 2018 winding down, we at TourRadar took a look back at the year in multi-day touring. Today, we released our Year in Touring report which includes the top multi-day tour destinations, trending locations and more.

In the report, we found that Egypt was our top destination outside of Europe, followed by Vietnam and Thailand. The African nation has bounced back from a tourism drought in recent years thanks to the growing popularity of multi-day experiences like Nile river tours and visits to the Pyramids of Giza.

For trending touring destinations, Hungary topped our list with 271% growth in bookings compared to last year, with Egypt not far behind (213% growth). Italy was the #1 multi-day tour destination overall, followed by England and France. The overwhelming popularity of Western European escapes proves the area remains a top bucket-list touring experience for U.S. travelers.
