Is The Dad Bod Really the Alcohol Bod?
Probably a BIG Factor
When you’re younger, you can bounce back from practically anything. You can eat garbage food, drink a ton of beer, and go to the gym at the same time.
While this isn’t a recommended way to get in shape, it’s possible to do it when you’re younger because you have a better metabolism and your body is able to take a lot more abuse. This is not the case when you get older.
The beer, food, and lack of exercise, start to bite you on the ass. You have to work extra hard for any results to happen.
The Dad Bod
As we get older, most men develop what’s called the dad bod. The telltale sign of this is the extended belly which we often refer to as a beer belly. We don’t think too much of this because as we get older, it’s easier to put on weight. Men will put on most of their weight in the midsection.
We can make jokes about the dad bod, but in reality, it’s quite dangerous. There’s layers of visceral fat that are pressing down on the organs and making it more difficult for the body to do its job which is to keep you alive. The larger your belly, the more visceral fat you have and the more pressure you put on your organs.
