Crazy Defense Heroes play-to-earn update for 8 April 2021: earn TOWER this month, plus new features coming soon
We have an update on the past, present, and future of the Tower Experiment, the exciting initiative to combine traditional free-to-play (F2P) gaming with the play-to-earn (P2E) capabilities enabled by blockchain. Here at
we have been working hard to make play-to-earn a major component of Crazy Defense Heroes (CDH) — read all about it below. Download Crazy Defense Heroes now on the App Store or Google Play to get started!In CDH we are moving away from the competitive events you saw in the last couple months, and toward a system that will institute true and ongoing play-to-earn to reward all players who meet minimum gameplay requirements. Please keep in mind that what we are announcing here is just the beginning — expect more developments and refinements in future updates!
Changes to Crazy Kings (CK) will be discussed at another time, since CK has a different architecture from CDH; for the time being, CK will continue with tournament-based play-to-earn on an event basis. This particular update is about CDH.
As always, please remember that the Tower Experiment represents totally new ground. To our knowledge, this is the first major initiative to combine mobile F2P with blockchain P2E, and if you choose to join us in this experiment please try to keep in mind that this is not your regular commercial project, but a bold, new, and experimental initiative to propel us into the bright new future of gaming.
Now onward with today’s update.
The present: play-to-earn in CDH for April 2021
Players of Crazy Defense Heroes who gain a minimum of 25,000 Experience Points (XP) during the month of April 2021 will share a reward pool of 300,000 TOWER tokens. No further action is required on your part — simply play CDH and your activity will be tracked for future entitlement to TOWER tokens.
Important: you must gain a minimum of 25,000 avatar XP in April 2021, instead of simply having 25,000 XP by the end of April 2021. For example, if you started April with 27,000 XP you will need to have at least 52,000 XP by the end of the month in order to earn TOWER.
You can check your current avatar level and XP earned toward your next level by clicking the avatar level bar in-game:
Note that the above shows your current XP progress toward the next avatar level, not cumulative XP. At the moment it is not possible to view your cumulative XP. As a rough indication, a new player can earn 25,000 avatar XP by winning around 40 individual battles, but this also depends on which game levels you are completing.
Note: The amount of TOWER you will be able to claim depends on the number of players who meet the XP requirements. The feature to claim TOWER is still in development (see below), so please wait for further information.
The Past: reward for playing CDH since 16 February 2021
As we promised back when we announced the Tower Experiment, players were able to earn TOWER by playing Crazy Defense Heroes starting on 16 February 2021. To fulfil that promise, we are making available another 300,000 TOWER tokens to reward players for their efforts during February and March 2021; eligibility to share in this reward is explained below.
Requirements: all players who gained at least 25,000 avatar XP between 16 February to 31 March 2021 will be eligible to claim a share of 300,000 TOWER. Once again, this refers to active gain of XP during the period.
Note: as explained in the previous section, the amount of TOWER you will be able to claim depends on the number of players who meet the XP requirements. The feature to claim TOWER is still in development (see below), so please wait for further information.
The future: tracking and claiming of TOWER
Tracking your TOWER: the amount of TOWER tokens you have earned in Crazy Defense Heroes is not displayed in-game and there are no plans to add this functionality. Instead, TOWER will be tracked externally to the game, in an interface that you will be able to access via the Web. This interface is in development and will be completed in the near future.
Sync: We are working on a feature to allow you to log in and sync your Ethereum wallet to your CDH game account at https://www.crazydefenseheroes.com. When ready, the new website will show you how many TOWER tokens you have earned so far in Crazy Defense Heroes. This feature is nearing completion and the goal is to make it available in the upcoming weeks.
Claiming your TOWER: at this time, TOWER tokens can be earned by playing CDH, but cannot yet be claimed by players. We are working to develop a claim system that will allow CDH players to claim TOWER via the Web and to receive it in their crypto wallets. This feature is under development, with more information to be provided as it becomes available.
