We are at a critical juncture in our history, where we have an opportunity to exchange knowledge and push social change. My comment centered EDUCATION not RACE. It is irrelevant what race police officers are, the minimums I suggest apply to recruitment and training of all officers. And according to the link in your post, as you notice the disparities in education though existent is fairly small. There are educated non-whites and recruitment practices are linked to social modeling of privileging white male authority, not the qualification of applicants. Given the education criteria, it would actually open doors for non-white, non-male college graduates to consider law enforcement on that level as a career option.

It may even open up discussions on higher pay grades for civil servants thus better quality of life for them, which would lead to better treatment of society members at large and not criminalizing those deemed as part of an “underclass.”
