This post features a favorite to many local Twin Cities Ice Cream fans, Grand Ole Creamery.

Grand Ole Creamery on Grand Ave St. Paul, MN

Grand Ole Creamery serves traditional hard scoop ice cream that is best ordered on top of their hand rolled waffled cones with a Whopper at the bottom of the cone.

The flavor choices can be overwhelming so even if the line at Grand Ole Creamery is long, you will need every moment of waiting to debate which flavor to try.

Our kids love the Cotton Candy flavor, my favorite is any chocolate and coffee combo they offer.

Grand Ole Creamery has won countless awards since they have opened their doors in 1984. They have been recognized not only locally, but nationally for their superior ice cream.

Do yourself a favor, if you ever have the chance, drive to one of their two locations, get in line and ask the person in front of you what their flavor of choice is. You will inevitably strike up a conversation about this cold treat that will make you smile and remind you why small businesses that specialize create the best products.

Do you have a favorite Grand Ole Creamery flavor? How about a memory of a conversation had while waiting in line? Do you and your family all choose the same flavor or do you each chose a different flavor so you can sample lots of different kinds? Is there another local ice cream shop in your area that we should try? Share with us in the comments. We would love to hear from you!
