What to Write
TOXIC WORK is a publication where you can unload on all of the awful work experiences you’ve ever had.
These could include (but are not limited to):
unpleasant workplaces
terrible bosses
obnoxious coworkers
incompetent administration
funny (like laugh-so-you-don’t-cry) experiences
ridiculous team-building exercises
interview red flags
quitting stories (à la r/Antiwork)
student/rookie jobs and internships
temp work
recruitment agencies
service and retail jobs
gig work
revenge stories
worker exploitation
harassment/abuse in the workplace
working abroad
working under the table
You can connect your individual experience to the overarching capitalist/neoliberal hellscape in which we currently live, offer advice or useful tips, or simply rant about the injustice and get it off your shoulders. A lot of us are probably going through/have gone through similar stuff, and misery loves company.
Your own experiences can also provide insights to help others avoid the same situations or deal with similar circumstances.
