Getting around in busy cities can be a challenge.

Crowded buses and trains, traffic gridlock — even with coffee, none of these urban realities are particularly enjoyable. Thankfully, there’s a new way to navigate congested city roads — the shared electric mopeds from our portfolio company, Revel.

Revel was started by Frank Reig and Paul Suhey in Brooklyn, NY. After experiencing the popularity of mopeds abroad, Frank and Paul decided to bring them to the U.S. Founded in 2018, Revel is a fully-electric moped sharing platform, designed to offer a safe, affordable way for people to navigate crowded cities and connect with their communities. The company is expanding its operations, and is currently hiring for a variety of positions in several U.S. cities. Below are just two available positions that Revel is looking to fill.

Chief Financial Officer (Brooklyn, NY): Revel is hiring an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the management team and help take the company to the next level. If you have a proven track record and are excited by the opportunity to influence the trajectory of an early-stage startup, Revel wants to hear from you.

As CFO, you’ll work with the Revel executive team on strategic initiatives that improve revenue growth and business profitability. You will also support general fundraising and investor relations efforts, and advise on short- and long-term company strategy. Other duties will include establishing financial and accounting processes for forecasting, budgeting, auditing, and regulatory compliance. You’ll lead the growing FP&A, accounting, and corporate development team, and support the development of Revel’s compensation and total rewards strategies. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with Revel’s third-party vendors.

To qualify, you’ll need 10+ years of financial leadership experience, ideally at a rapidly-expanding startup. You must have a data-driven mindset and strong analytical skills. Due to the seniority of the role, you should also have experience leading a team and the ability to support and mentor other employees.

New Markets Operations Manager (Brooklyn, NY): Revel’s mopeds are currently available in Washington D.C., Austin, TX, and New York City. As the company grows, it has an opening for a New Markets Operations Manager in its Brooklyn headquarters. This position is perfect for highly-motivated individuals with an appreciation for a fast-paced work culture.

The New Markets Operations Manager role is instrumental to Revel’s expansion efforts. You will be a key part of the Revel advance team, helping set up warehouses, train new operations team members, and lead the support system for moped services in new geographic areas. You will also collaborate closely with other support teams and be responsible for general safety, quality, and availability of Revel vehicles. Other responsibilities include analyzing and improving maintenance procedures to ensure that Revel mopeds are well-maintained and ready for deployment.

Candidates will need 5+ years of experience in transportation, operations, or logistics, and a background in troubleshooting or vehicle maintenance. You’ll also need strong leadership skills, an ability to work with competing priorities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Finally, as the New Markets Operations Manager, you’ll be expected to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Revel is pursuing a vision of improving urban transportation with fun, electric shareable mopeds. If you’d like to join a startup that’s positioned to be the next big thing in micromobility, find out more about career opportunities at Revel on the Toyota AI Ventures jobs board.
