Toyota AI Ventures Talent Network Featured Jobs: Security Operations Manager and Infrastructure Engineer
If you’re looking to join a startup that is on a mission to help robots and people work together, our portfolio company Cobalt Robotics is hiring!
One of 2019’s Best Places to Work in the Bay Area, the San Mateo-based startup pairs its indoor autonomous robot, Cobalt Robot, with highly-trained remote security specialists to offer enterprise customers a robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) solution for security and facility operations. Founded by CEO Travis Deyle and CTO Erik Schluntz, Cobalt Robotics recently closed its $35M Series B funding round, and the team is looking to fill key roles that are important to its long-term business strategy.
Security Operations Manager: Cobalt Robotics is hiring a Security Operations Manager to help promote the needs of Cobalt’s customers inside the company. This role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, supporting implementation of existing and new services, and fostering customer advocacy.
As the Security Operations Manager, you’ll build customer success goals and KPIs to manage and track account health, collaborate across departments to build new customer onboarding procedures, and manage product implementation and updates with the operations and field services team. You will be responsible for supporting the sales team by coordinating demos, answering customer questions, and introducing new features and product lines. You will also partner with the engineering team to address customer feedback on features and releases, and collaborate with the sales and product teams to improve customer metrics like renewals, upsells, and expansion.
Cobalt Robotics is looking for candidates with at least four years of experience in security operations. Other requirements include B2B and hardware industry expertise, and experience maintaining relationships with internal and external business stakeholders, including senior executive staff. You should also have experience creating business intelligence programs, reports, and customer facing-documentation.
Infrastructure Engineer: Cobalt’s robots are supercomputers on wheels, complete with high-performance audio, video, and telemetry capabilities, and the company is hiring its first infrastructure engineer to help build the infrastructure and tools to manage continuous integration, deployment and software updates to its growing fleet of robots. It’s a unique opportunity to develop system operation and monitoring processes, with the goal of improving the reliability and capabilities of both the product fleet and its supporting backend services.
As Infrastructure Engineer, you will manage and automate code deployments to all web application environments, including CI, CD, AWS, and DB. You’ll also design and implement iteration and testing processes, over-the-air updates, and automation tools alongside several cross-functional engineering teams. This position will require you to architect robust testing procedures and simulations for both hardware and software environments, and to provide technical guidance in design discussions and code reviews.
Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field, and 3+ years of work experience using AWS, provisioning tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef, and Python and Linux. You’ll also need excellent communication skills to collaborate with different teams that may have competing priorities.
Cobalt Robotics provides RaaS workplace security solutions to top brands like Slack and Yelp. It’s a great opportunity to make an impact at a thriving startup that’s changing the way robots and humans work together.
