In order to accelerate the growing market for satellite applications and enable a robust space economy, our portfolio company STOKE Space Technologies is building a completely reusable second-stage launch vehicle that will provide on-demand access to space, at a fraction of previous costs. STOKE aims to deliver satellites from Low Earth Orbit to Trans Lunar Injection — with improvements to cost and availability comparable to commercial air travel.

Based in Kent, Washington, the company’s world-class team is backed by experts with several successful launches under their belt from SpaceX, Blue Origin, and RocketDyne — and they are currently hiring!

If you are interested in being part of building the foundational infrastructure and launch vehicle layers to enable next-generation satellite applications, STOKE has a number of exciting opportunities available on the Toyota Ventures jobs board, including these two key roles: Head of Marketing and New Grad Software Engineer, Web Applications.

Head of Marketing (Kent, Washington)

STOKE is in search of an experienced head of marketing to amplify the company’s mission of delivering satellites directly to their final orbit in fully reusable rockets that are designed to fly daily. In this role, you will be responsible for sharing STOKE’s story with key audiences through platforms such as social media, visual media, long-form writing, community outreach, live broadcasts, and other outlets. While you will eventually build a team to achieve these goals, in the short term, you will identify and manage outside contractors, consultants, or agencies. To excel in this role, you’ll need to be both a team player and a proven leader, and have a willingness to pitch in as needed in support of critical project milestones

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: working with STOKE’s founders to define and execute strategic marketing plans; developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the industry landscape; tracking significant company milestones; and developing and evolving the company’s brand identity. The position also involves producing sales documents, promotional content, and other literature, as well as managing social media accounts and visual content like videos and photos. Therefore, candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience establishing a brand presence through multiple platforms.

New Grad Software Engineer, Web Applications (Kent, Washington)

STOKE is in search of a web application software engineer who will be responsible for building industry-leading productivity tools to set up and maintain internal and external applications. This role is well-suited for self-motivated recent graduates who can stay focused, move fast, and learn on the fly. Additional responsibilities will include writing and deploying code across all of STOKE’s web application suite; building and maintaining infrastructure using AWS; monitoring, responding to and improving software operational footprint; and work in programs such as Typescript, Python and Go.

Strong candidates will have up to three years of demonstrated experience implementing user stories in collaboration with product management teams and have familiarity with web application frameworks like Redwood or Django, as well as frontend UI frameworks such as React and Vue. Familiarity with Typescript, Python, Java, Go or C# is a must, and exceptional candidates will have experience or willingness to learn all aspects of in-house and external applications.
