Our talent network is a free-to-join career platform that provides access to some of the most creative startups in AI, robotics, and mobility.

Business Systems Analyst (Santa Cruz, CA): In addition to designing new types of aircraft, Joby is building a systems support infrastructure that will help its vehicles move passengers safely and efficiently. This role is responsible for coordinating evaluation, selection, deployment, and improvement efforts relating to existing and new business systems applications. It is a good fit for candidates that have existing knowledge of complex manufacturing and is key to Joby’s long-term company growth.

As the business systems analyst, you will be responsible for working with several internal teams to align design and production needs with Joby’s business systems. You will also collaborate closely with process owners and subject matter experts to develop desired application functionality use cases and identify risks and opportunities for deploying new functionalities. In addition, you will provide level-2 support for new functionalities, create and review desktop process instructions, and work with other support staff to troubleshoot data integrity issues. A key part of this position also involves driving internal continuous improvement initiatives and conducting application training.

If you’re interested in being Joby’s new business systems analyst, you will need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and 3+ years of applicable work experience. You must be able to demonstrate experience with material management practices and have an understanding of the process needs of ISO9001 quality management systems. You’ll also need advanced knowledge of SQL databases and the Microsoft Office suite, as well as excellent communication and multitasking skills.

Stress Engineer (Santa Cruz, CA): Joby Aviation is looking for a stress engineer for its structures engineering team. This role will interface with multiple teams within the company and play a major part in the development and design of Joby’s next generation eVTOL aircraft.

As the stress engineer, you will conduct design trades and optimizations for final product configuration and apply finite element analysis to internal loads data. You will also be responsible for composite ply stack optimization for weight reduction, while supporting ongoing structural testing.

To qualify, you’ll need a master’s or Ph.D in a relevant discipline and 7+ years of work experience that includes aircraft primary structure analysis and hands-on time with composite materials and manufacturing processes. You’ll also need knowledge of the Dassault Systemes CAD suite, Abaqus/CAE or Femap & Nastran software. Finally, as Joby’s stress engineer, you will need to have a working knowledge of the maintenance review board (MRB), an understanding of FAR Part 23 and Part 27 regulations, and a background of working within the aircraft certification program.

As cities increase in population, they need new, sustainable methods of transportation to overcome existing mobility challenges.
