On Tuesdays, Toyota AI Ventures spotlights two job openings at our portfolio companies. These roles are among hundreds of open positions in the Toyota AI Ventures Talent Network. Free to join, the talent network helps job seekers discover new career opportunities at the startups in our investment portfolio.

In today’s post, we take a look at Intuition Robotics, which is developing cognitive AI agents for autonomous vehicles and robotics applications.

Intuition Robotics was founded in 2016 by Dor Skuler, Itai Mendelsohn, and Roy Amir to create proactive, social companion robots that improve the lives of humans. The company’s first product, ElliQ, is designed to help older adults stay independent, engaged, and connected to their family. Intuition Robotics is also working on digital AI companions that can be applied in other areas, including cognitive, in-car agents for autonomous vehicles.

Intuition Robotics is headquartered in Ramat Gan, Israel, and is expanding its office in San Francisco, CA. The company is looking for collaborative, multi-disciplinary leaders to add to its team of talented professionals.

Software Developer (San Francisco, California): Intuition Robotics is growing its development team and is looking to hire an experienced software developer in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is critical for the company as Intuition Robotics continues expanding the applications of its AI platform and creating new ways to define the relationship between humans and machines.

To qualify for this role, you must have a deep knowledge of software stacks, frameworks, and methodologies, as well as a familiarity with unstructured databases like NoSQL. Intuition Robotics is looking for candidates who love to code in different environments and languages, including Android, Java, C, and Python — just to name a few. The role also calls for experience in building systems, test, and development environments.

If you’ve built complex, scalable, data-intensive systems in the cloud and are looking to join a team where everyone has a passion for scalable, robust infrastructure, this position is a good opportunity to improve your coding skills.

UX Researcher (San Francisco, California): Do you have a passion for coming up with new, interesting methods to tell rich stories using data? Intuition Robotics is currently looking to hire a UX Researcher to help support research operations, gather and analyze data, and address research challenges on a range of projects. If you’re a creative self-starter, this is a great opportunity to apply your talents in a startup environment.

As a UX researcher, you will play a key role on Intuition Robotics’ human-computer interaction and behavioral analysis research team. You will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and screening research participants; collecting primary data; and maintaining accurate records of interviews, while safeguarding subject confidentiality. The position is based in San Francisco, and you will be required to travel to local and remote field sites for data recording and to provide field support.

To qualify, you’ll need a minimum of three years of UX research experience, preferably working with older adults. In addition, you should have a history of operating technical products and systems, excellent people skills, and experience working independently.

Candidates with a degree in human-computer interaction, human factors, cognitive psychology, or a similar discipline, as well as those with a background in conducting UX studies on consumer electronics products, are preferred.
