UI Designer (Union City, California)

Third Wave is looking for an experienced UI designer to work closely with the company’s product and FE engineering teams to iterate and respond to user needs. In this role, you will design and optimize the user interface for Third Wave’s front-end products based on user-focused product requirements, apply functional design patterns across the interface designed for collaboration with the company’s automation products, as well as create and test UI prototypes for new product ideas. As a UI designer, you will be instrumental in helping to craft a great user experience and user interface for our front-end services. You will have the opportunity to shape how Third Wave customers interact with the automation products and will have the opportunity to apply your skills to one of Third Wave’s key interfaces that have a real-world impact through physical devices.

Applicants should have over three years of experience in designing user interfaces for web and mobile applications and must have a wide-ranging portfolio of work to showcase said experience. Furthermore, those who apply must have experience working cross-functionally and collaboratively with design teams and have a deep understanding of user research methodologies. Additional knowledge of programs such as Figma, Illustrator and Photoshop is a must. It is considered a plus to have advanced prototyping skills (ProtoPie), experience in modern web front end technologies (React or Material UI), existing experience in 3D (Fusion 360, Solidworks), video or HUD design as well as experience in creating interfaces for hardware devices.

Product Manager (Union City, California)

As a product manager at Third Wave, you will work closely with the company’s product, design and engineering teams to help create world-class products to support human-robot collaboration in a warehouse environment. Key responsibilities will include: gathering, analyzing and presenting customer requirements on a continual basis; understanding markets, competition, and user requirements; and curating, communicating, and managing a long-term product roadmap. In this position, candidates will contribute to company-wide business plans which will require collaboration with designers, engineers and management to balance requirements with resources. You will also interact closely with customers to adapt product features to feedback, analyze external and internal data to identify gaps and opportunities, and conduct relevant research studies to enhance product offerings.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent accompanied by five or more years of experience in a similar role. Additionally, this role requires knowledge of multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, UX/UI, sales, customer support, finance and marketing in order to fully drive product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions required in this role. Demonstrated accomplishments in utilizing modern project management tools and the ability to successfully define and launch robotic products is critical.
