Announcing Granary, a Tezos development environment manager by Stove Labs
We are proud to announce that we have commissioned Stove Labs to create Granary, a new development environment manager for writing Tezos smart contracts in ReasonML, Liquidity, and Michelson. In the future, developers will be able to deploy contracts and easily test and visualize them in this sandboxed environment with a user interface similar to that of Ganache from Truffle Suite.
Stove Labs is owned and operated by Matej Šima. Many in the Tezos community know Matej from his recent tutorial posts outlining how to get started creating a private Tezos development environment and writing Tezos smart contracts in ReasonML. Matej also intends to expand the tooling around ReasonML for Tezos, making it easier to develop dApps.
What is ReasonML?
ReasonML is a rapidly growing project that enables developers to write fast, type-safe OCaml (or Liquidity) code, but with a javascript-like syntax and easy interoperability to existing Javascript libraries and NPM/Yarn. Created at Facebook and powering much of Facebook Messenger, ReasonML is becoming increasingly attractive for application development (e.g. ReasonReact).
A ReasonML toggle button (“REliq”) was also recently added to the Liquidity smart contract editor, providing developers the option to write Liquidity contracts using a more familiar javascript-like syntax. This recently added toggle and the launch of Granary will meaningfully increase the accessibility of Tezos smart contract development.
