Android Studio 1.0 Released

Yesterday Google released Android Studio 1.0. It is the first version of their new official Android IDE replacing Eclipse IDE with ADT plugin. It is built on the popular IntelliJ IDEA (Community Edition) Java IDE. We like the IntelliJ Platform here at Tracepot because we already using PHPStorm and we love it.

Most notable features are:

  • Gradle, the new build system
  • Build variants and multiple APK generation
  • Built-in support for Google Cloud Platform
  • Support for Android phones, tablets, Android Wear, Android TV, Android Auto and Google Glass

You can find more informations about Android Studio on the official Android Developers Blog.
