traceto.io sharing session with Venture Capital Firms
On 20th September, together with Colin Ng & Partners, an established full service law firm in Singapore, traceto.io co-hosted Bitrise Capital and Chain Capital, two leading venture capital firms in the region, for a legal and regulatory session as part of their week-long visit to Singapore. They brought along founders of several blockchain projects as well.
During the session, our CMO Dan Poh shared about the importance of conducting proper Know Your Customers (KYC) and the need to select a good KYC solution provider.
Dan explained about what traceto.io does and how we seek to redefine KYC for the blockchain and cryptocurrency community by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence. By building an inclusive KYC utility network, traceto.io seeks to promote regulatory inclusion and make anti-money laundering (AML) and KYC compliance a breeze as we anticipate that regulatory scrutiny in this sector will be stepped up globally. Several pertinent legal and regulatory topics were discussed during the session that include:
1) Varied definitions of security and utility tokens globally;
2) Views about the Initial Coin Offering (ICO) market; and
3) Different regulatory approaches on cryptocurrency and potential AML and KYC implications.
The participants generally agreed that it is critical to engage a good KYC provider and discussed the potential benefits that a project like traceto.io can bring to the market. In addition, Dan demonstrated practical AML and KYC use cases in several organisations and showcased how traceto.io decentralized network will serve the needs of various industries, in particular, the evolving blockchain and cryptocurrency sector.
