Adelaide Racing Carnival Fashion Edit 2016

Melbourne does Spring and Sydney does Easter. May is all about Morphettville, the iconic home of racing in South Australia, where the Adelaide Racing Carnival is on over three unmissable Saturdays in May. We’re starting the festivities with the Schweppes Oaks on May 7, followed by Derby on the 14th. Finally, the whole shebang will be capped off by another Group 1, the Goodwood Day, on May 21st.

My husband was the first trainer in more than a century to claim a rare Group One double Adelaide Cup and Goodwood Handicap at Morphetville in 2005. Demerger won the Adelaide Cup and his mare Glamour Puss won the Goodwood Handicap the following weekend. It hasn’t been done since!

With the lure of quality black type races and great fashion, Adelaide is set for one big party for the month of May! Below are a few of my favourite Autumn Racing outfit inspirations: lots of bell sleeves, florals, suede pumps, and leather clutches. Oh, and don’t forget the elegant, structured hats.
