What should you eat after a track meet? Well it depends on what you competed in. For throwing events it is crucial that you consume a lot of protein to keep you muscles fueled. Throwers also need lots of carbs. Short sprinters and jumping events such as high jump, long jump, and the 100–400 need to eat a big meal after they run. This meal should include lots and lots of carbs, protein and some sort of fruit or vegetable. After competing in a distance race, it is important that those athletes consume as much calories that there body needs. This is because distance runners burn so many calories in such a short amount of time. All events need to make sure that they are staying hydrated and taking care of their body.

After meets athletes should be sure to take care of their body. They can do this by stretching well. If you don’t stretch well after you compete your body is more susceptible to get muscle tares and it increases the likelihood of you being sore the next day. Stretching and eating right is a good way to help prevent injury.
