The Local Mailing Center in Lake City Will Be Open On Memorial Day 2023!
The post office will be closed, but Lake City locals can still bring any mail they want mailed out by The Business Hub on Memorial Day!
The Post Office in Lake City, SC Will Be Closed, But Our Local Shipping & Mailing Center Will Be Open!
Ashley, one of the fun Office Managers who I interviewed for an article a few weeks ago, will be working on Memorial Day at The Business Hub, which is located at 207 N. Ron McNair Boulevard in Lake City.
She explained to me how folks from Lake City, Scranton, Coward, Cades, Kingstree, Turbeville, and other nearby places can benefit from the convenient mailing center being open on Memorial Day 2023.
Memorial Day is also Ashley’s birthday! So, if you need to mail off something at The Business Hub on the upcoming federal holiday on Monday, May 29th, be sure to wish her a happy one!
“How young will you be this year, Ashley?” I asked. “And, if USPS doesn’t run on a federal holiday, then how does it work with you guys being open for business and able to mail things on Memorial Day, when the post office isn’t?”
“Well, to answer your first question, I’ll be 33 years young on Memorial Day!” she laughed. “For your second question, being that we work in conjunction with USPS, what we do here at The Hub is take any outgoing mail that any locals may have on the federal holiday. We’ll be open for business all day Monday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., as usual. This means that any locals can feel free to bring anything they want to our shipping and mailing center to mail out on Monday, and it will be expedited early Tuesday morning.”
“Ohhhh,” I responded. “Okay. So, if someone was planning on having to wake up early Tuesday morning to go to the post office and mail something out, now they won’t have to, because they can just drop off their mail with you at The Business Hub on Memorial Day.”
“Exactly,” Ashley responded.
Postmaster Frazier B. Baker Post Office Will Be Closed on Memorial Day, So Drop Off Your Mail At The Business Hub in Lake City on The Federal Holiday
It’s pretty much common knowledge that the post office in Lake City, SC, which was recently renamed Postmaster Frazier B. Baker Post Office in honor of the slain African-American postmaster (read the story here) is closed on federal holidays, just like every other post office in the country.
As stated in the earlier article, The Business Hub works in partnership with the local Lake City post office. The new shipping & mailing center has their back when they are closed, so we’ll keep an eye out for you on Memorial Day 2023!
