Have you found the secret sauce?
Ever entered a workplace only to smell the stench of bad company culture in the air?
A study from the University of Warwick found happy employees are up to 20% more productive than unhappy employees. There’s many articles defining workplace happiness and many more explaining why it’s important. However, creating workplace happiness and positive culture can be tricky and really depends on the dynamics of each team. We think we’ve found the secret sauce to creating a fun and happy workplace for our gang at TrademarkVision and wanted to share just few ideas that make us unique.
It starts with our five core values.

We value those who share these qualities and we try to live them out each day. We do shoutouts when we see the core values in action and our “no jerks” policy means innovation and creativity can flourish as we’re all encouraged to contribute ideas, however silly or out-of-the-box. This is how communication strengthens and great ideas happen!
Fun
We’re like one big family and we’re always organising activities in and out of work. We spend lunch together each day, celebrate holidays, birthdays and cultural days. We meditate each day and spend Friday afternoons playing games or doing a fun activity like baseball games, arcades or BBQs.
Flexibility
Life is real and we have strong beliefs about flexible working so everyone can create their own balance. We’re a bunch of humans with different circumstances so a “one-size-fits-all” approach is simply unrealistic.
Community
Participating in initiatives and being active in the community is something we really admire. Whether it’s speaking at events, facilitating meetups or joining fundraisers, we encourage each other and show our support. We like to surround ourselves with incredible people who like to do incredible things, which attracts more people and the cycle continues.
Life learning
We love it when the next round of summer interns join the team to add fresh perspectives. Making connections with innovators of the future is great for our team to expand their networks, develop their mentoring skills and knowledge share.
While this only scratches the surface of the TrademarkVision team, we think we’ve mastered the recipe to building workplace happiness for an amazing company culture.
