Our stance on content moderation in the Ecosystem

Creating and encouraging a community around something is so powerful. You gather people who share interests and values and can start conversations, movements… or even a whole new era. The Internet and software tools made it easier and faster, but people are the ones to bring it to life.

Here at Traders Central, as our name gives a hint, we want traders to gather in a reliable place to do what they love and to achieve results like never before. To do so, we sincerely believe in the strength that comes from helping and learning from each other. So, since the beginning, we’ve been about keeping the door open for everybody who wants to join the finance discussion. One example of that is our Telegram group.

With the growth of our company, we are improving and expanding — not only our products, but — the entire Platform, not setting aside the use of technology to empower our traders and to encourage community conversations, and we would like to walk you through how we are making this happen.

Community Moderation: why do we need it?

We cannot open the door for discussion and leave it unattended. If we do so, we may lose track of the conversation and allow it to go somewhere that is not aligned with our values.

Here at Traders Central, we are all about:

We know that information nowadays is so easily manipulated, which may bring risks to companies and the entire society. Therefore, users are encouraged to share their points of view and general information anywhere inside Traders Central, as long as they are accurate and that users are expressing themselves in a respectful way towards other members. Therefore, moderation is our way of ensuring the environment stays safe and welcoming for everyone.

Community Moderation: how do we do it?

The first step was defying what we wanted our Platform to be about, using our core values to lead the way. With that in mind, we use three methods to moderate the community:

🤖 Machine learning

We use tech to help us stay on track of the community goals quickly, identifying content that may diverge from our values.

🗣 User’s help

All community members can report content or accounts that violate our Community Guidelines and Content Policy so we can check them up.

👩🏼‍💻 Human reviewers

Our Safety and Integrity team is constantly keeping up with the community activities to ensure the safe and welcoming space that we wanted in the first place. The team is also responsible for checking reports made by other users or anything our system identified as policy violations.
