Deposit and Withdraw TSX into your TradeStars Account through WalletConnect

TradeStars has integrated WalletConnect, an open-source protocol for connecting DApps (decentralised applications) to mobile wallets.

TradeStars is the first Fantasy Sports Gaming DApp where you can trade Fantasy Stocks whose value is directly linked to the real-life performance of world-famous athletes. The stocks can be purchased and sold using TSX, which is both the in-game currency (utility token) and the governance token of the ecosystem.

TradeStars is built on the Ethereum blockchain and powered by Polygon Network’s Layer 2 scaling solution. Till now, you could deposit and withdraw TSX to and from your in-game blockchain wallet only through Metamask.

With the WalletConnect integration, you can now deposit and withdraw TSX into your TradeStars account using a mobile wallet of your choice. WalletConnect supports a wide range of popular and reputed cryptocurrency wallets, including Trust Wallet, Coinomi, Infinito, and so on.

What is WalletConnect?

WalletConnect is a protocol which is being used by a host of cryptocurrency wallets to allows you to easily connect with a range of DApps. You can securely interact with the supported DApps through your mobile phone, by scanning a QR code (for desktop) or clicking an application deep link (for mobile).

When you wish to interact successfully with a DApp, you have to connect your wallet and enable the DApp (provide permission) to make signed transactions. WalletConnect implements this by establishing an encrypted connection between your wallet and the DApp you’re interacting with, offering a much more secure choice as compared to desktop or browser extension wallets.

TradeStars x WalletConnect

Connecting your TradeStars account with your mobile wallet through WalletConnect is extremely easy. We will walk you through the steps required to deposit TSX using WalletConnect here. Note that though we’re using Trust Wallet as an example, you can pick any wallet of your liking.

Step 1 — Log in to your TradeStars account on your browser using your details.

Step 2 — Click on the drop-down button on the top right corner. Select “Deposit” and then click on “Wallet Connect”.

Step 3 — A QR code will appear now, which will be used to connect to Trust Wallet.

Step 4 — Open the Trust Wallet DApp on your mobile. Go to the “Settings” tab and click on “Wallet Connect”.

Step 5 — Use your mobile camera to scan the QR code, and provide permission by clicking on “Connect”.

That’s all. You’re now connected to the TradeStars Mainnet to your Trust Wallet mobile wallet through the Wallet Connect protocol.
