By Rishabh Daga

The tide that moves with the moon
The motion of the seas and the sand
Movement that always feels too soon
The yearning at the sight of land

Powering through the water to touch,
A grain of sand on the illusive shore.
Moved by the moon I sway and lurch.
Stuck by the waves, in pain and sore.

Then I let the waves carry me through,
I touch the shore with a hand that slips.
Like a perigee I have reached a peak though
And now like a half-hearted smile on your lips

Hesitance will move me towards the sea
Because the moon is not what you see
And you will sway like the name of the wind
And like wind you will change and sing

The song I hear, but not for too long.
A melody with a uncannily delicious flavor,
Of a time that awakens memories,
With a taste that has now become hollow.

I stand in the sea with a few grains in my hand
And I wait because the cycle will move me again
Towards the same shore or maybe a different one.
Cause it’s not just the sea that moves.
