Building a business community gave me access to mentors, new clients and more opportunities than I can count [The Power Of Community]
I got a message in my Linkedin inbox — It was from Pascal, he asked me something I couldn’t say no to
Speaking at Growth Hacker Talk in Cape Town
Gino (far left) and Pascal (left) run Growth Hacker talk in Amsterdam,
They decided last minute to throw an event in Cape Town
I was asked to come speak, even though I’d never met Pascal (or spoken to him online)
This was a coincidence for two reasons:
1) The person that told Pascal I was in Cape Town only met me because of a contact through Traffic and Copy, my Facebook group
2) Pascal and Gino are growth hackers, so I looked inside Traffic and Copy to find they’d been in the group for almost 2 years — so they knew what content to expect from me…
This is why it’s crucial to build a community in the long run
No matter how much I focus on cold outreach
Long term my email list and followers will be more important
And long term, what many people don’t realise
Building a community saves you a lot of money
On advertising
On market research
And finding talent
This is the power of community
There is no better “growth hack”
