Trailhead Reinvents the Résumé with New Skills Graph
The demand for Salesforce skills has never been higher. In fact, according to an IDC report, Salesforce and its ecosystem of partners and customers will create 3.3 million new jobs worldwide by the year 2022.
With the demand for Salesforce skilled employees on the rise, we are constantly reminded of the power that learning Salesforce skills can have on transforming a Trailblazer’s future — from getting the edge needed for a promotion to landing a dream job, Trailblazers all over the world are transforming their lives with Trailhead. But Trailhead isn’t just a great way to learn skills, it is also an amazing way to showcase your brand and your expertise — it is becoming the new and improved résumé.
The Trailhead Profile — Your Digital Résumé
Traditional résumés that solely list job experience have become stale and outdated. A laundry list of previous experience is no longer a true reflection of competencies needed for employers to choose the best candidate for the job. The Trailhead profile lets Trailblazers showcase their Trailhead rank, badges and points earned, plus personal information like product and job experience. By illustrating hands-on skills, the Trailhead profile is the reinvented résumé and the place for Trailblazers to show their colleagues and employers what they know, what they have learned, and what they have mastered.
Introducing New Skills Graph
We are always looking for new ways to empower Trailblazers to showcase their skills and competencies to future employers on their reinvented résumé. While badges on your profile represent what you have learned and superbadges demonstrate that you can take what you’ve learned and apply it to solve complex problems, we wanted to take that one step further.
With the new Skills Graph, all of a Trailblazer’s abilities that badges represent are displayed in their own personal graph. Take for example Mark Tossell, a Trailblazer who transformed his career from a pastor to a Salesforce digital business analyst, and has earned more than 200 badges. The new Skills Graph consolidates Mark’s massive amount of learning into one clear and concise graph, showcasing that Mark’s top skills are in Lightning, CRM and Reporting. With the Skills Graph, future employers have a direct view of Mark’s top competencies, making it that much easier for them to know that he is a perfect candidate for a job.
New Vanity URL
The Trailhead profile has really become a digital résumé — the place for Trailblazers to showcase what they know and what they’ve learned. To help our Trailblazers market their skills even more, we’ve created a new Vanity URL, a custom short URL where Trailblazers can create and easily link back to their Trailhead profile. The Vanity URL gives job seekers an easy way of sharing their profile, whether it’s on their résumé, social media sites, or with a hiring manager.
Empowering Everyone For a Job in The Workforce of The Future
We are constantly inspired by the success of Trailblazers who transformed their careers and lives with Trailhead. Our Trailblazer community shows no signs of slowing down, earning more than 5 million badges and completing 20 million challenges as they move forward on their professional journeys. The Skills Graph is available today and is a major step on our journey of reinventing the résumé for all Trailblazers.
We look forward to seeing your Trailblazer profile to see where you’ve been and where you land in the workforce of the future!
