Rank up and #Seizethetrail

The secret sauce to success is often breaking down one big goal into a series of smaller, more achievable goals. Experts call these SMART, an acronym for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Because there are so many topics to learn and so many badges to choose from, it can be helpful to set a goal for your Trailhead adventure.

That’s why Team Trailhead created Trailblazer Ranks!

Trailblazer Ranks in action

Rank-up, be S-M-A-R-T

Trailblazer ranks are like levels in your favorite game. To unlock the next rank, you need to earn a certain number of badges AND points. Ranks empower you to set milestones for success throughout your personal learning journey. You don’t need to earn every single badge on Trailhead — that doesn’t stop some people wanting to though! — but you still need that SMART goal.

Blazing your way up the ranks helps you set, meet and grow your Trailhead objectives along the way. Trailhead Ranks allow you to assess what level you’re at now and challenge yourself to unlock the next one by earning more points and badges. Here’s how:

  • Specific — choose your desired rank
  • Measurable — earn the points and badges needed to meet it
  • Achievable — take baby steps, don’t try and go for Ranger right from the start
  • Relevant — choose badges and trails that link to your role and passions
  • Time-bound — put a time limit on your goal (like Dec 31st for #SeizetheTrail!)

#Protip: Choose badges with hands-on challenges (up to 500 points) vs quizzes (100 points) to rack up the most points! Superbadges have the most points of all (2,000!) if you need an extra push to reach a new rank.

To be or not to be (a Ranger)

So why do these ranks matter? Apart from providing you with the inspiration and motivation to take your Salesforce learning even higher, they also show the world your mad-crazy Salesforce skills. Your profile will prove to your boss, team, and company (not to mention potential employers) that you’re serious about developing your Salesforce capabilities.

And it works! Trailblazers around the world are already setting and achieving their learning goals through ranks:

The time is now. Seize the trail!

Rising through the ranks is especially timely right now if you’re interested in the chance to win fabulous prizes via the #SeizetheTrail sweepstakes. All badges earned between November 13, 2017 and December 31, 2017 will earn you a chance to win an exciting prize.

These rad prizes are tiered based on the rank you achieve by the end, so the more badges and points earned, the better the prize you could score. Now, not only can you reach your own personal goal, but you may also get rewarded for doing it too! Challenge yourself to skill up on Salesforce and rise up the ranks today.

#SeizetheTrail is already inspiring Trailblazers to challenge themselves to learn new skills by the bushel:

Getting involved is as easy as following Trailhead on Twitter and Facebook. Make your #SeizetheTrail rank targets public by tweeting out your goal to the world!

So don’t just coast into the new year, grab the rest of 2017 by the badger and ring in 2018 skilled-up, ranked-up and ready to blaze new trails.

Grab those badgers!
