Excitement is in the air at Trailmix as we’re adding a new member to the leadership team.

Our fifth anniversary was just a few months ago, and it’s incredible to see how a small team of dreamers has grown into a thriving company. Making games is hard, and building a great company with an amazing culture while making games is even harder. What has allowed us to not only survive, but thrive is our ability to attract the best people in the industry and empower them to make a real impact.

We take great pride in having created Love & Pies. Not only is it an incredibly beautiful game with mind-blowing long-term retention, but it also tells stories that are not typically told in mobile casual games and its characters respectfully represent our broad audience.

Adding Supercell as our majority investor last year and securing additional financing was another highlight of our journey. This allowed us to rapidly expand our team and transition from a start-up to a scale-up.

As we are growing as a company and our operations are getting more and more complex I felt that it’s finally time to add a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to the team. This will ensure that processes and procedures run efficiently, and strategies to improve productivity and profitability are implemented, while preserving our culture and values.

While considering candidates for the role, I quickly came to the realization that I already know the best person for the job: James Nicholas

James Nicholas, COO at Trailmix

I worked closely with James at King. He left a COO role at an Australian gaming company to join the King London studio, where he helped run the Farm Heroes Saga Franchise and various other projects. James then worked as a GM at Scopely, one of the fastest growing mobile games companies with a broad portfolio of games, for the last five years.

Working with James at King, I appreciated his deep expertise, incredible drive, and integrity. I strongly believe and trust that adding him to the Trailmix leadership team will help us not only navigate the challenging waters of the gaming industry but also shape the next decade of mobile games.

From James:

“I am both honored and excited that Caro, Tristan and the team at Trailmix have entrusted me with the COO role. The mission of bringing snackable yet nourishing experiences to all generations of players is an exciting vision for the future of gaming. Love and Pies is both a testament to this vision and the world-class quality and execution the team can bring to players everyday. I look forward to working with, and learning from such a talented and diverse team as we continue to grow Love and Pies and develop even more unique, deeper and connected experiences for players.”

Welcome to the team and our incredible journey, James! 🤩
