The future of work awaits in the Metaverse. In my previous article I gave you a glimpse of how the Metaverse will transform our work life. Now onto another topic: What kind of jobs and consulting services can you expect to be high in demand by individuals and businesses in the Metaverse? I’ve got 5 hot job profiles laid out for you. Time to take a look into the future workforce.

5 jobs in the metaverse

1. Metaverse NFT Designer

Field of Expertise: Concept & Design NFTs

NFT’s or non fungible tokens will be so popular in the Metaverse, you will need a designer as a company to build brand awareness. NFTs are collectibles and enhance your digital avatar in so many ways, may that be an outfit for your avatar or a memorabilia from your visit in the Metaverse on a particular piece of land.

For companies looking to buy a piece of land in the Metaverse and host experiences NFTs are automatically in the conversation. Metaverse users will flock to your lot if you have something cool to offer. If you are a car company you could sell digital cars as NFTs. If you are a fashion company you can sell outfits. NFTs are already selling for big money. In December a yacht was sold for 650,000$ in the Sandbox metaverse and properties in “Decentraland” already sell for millions of dollars on platforms such as OpenSea.

Warner Music Group just announced two days ago that it is partnering with The Sandbox metaverse to create the first music-themed world called WMG Land within the gaming metaverse. According to the announcement this world will feature concerts and other various musical experiences from leading Warner music artists. Digital concerts are a perfect place for NFTs as a sort of souvenir that you can buy, similarly to the experience of purchasing a T-shirt at your favourite bands concert at a physical location.

2. Metaverse Coach

Field of Expertise: Promotes engagement and interaction between businesses and customers, supports individuals and (software) teams

For companies interested to invest time and capital into the Metaverse and participate in order to engage with potential customers coaches will be needed to drive engagement and interaction. Not only interactions between customers and employees but also within teams creating the experience for customers. Learning how to best facilitate tools available within the Metaverse to interact and collaborate

The field of coaching offers endless opportunities here. Let’s take software development teams for instance. The new co-location model may be rooted in the Metaverse space. Coaches such as Agile Coaches or Scrum Masters could help teams connect with each other more deeply in such a digital environment and support their productivity.

3. Metaverse Strategist

Field of Expertise: Consults businesses to help with positioning of products in the Metaverse

Strategists that challenge businesses and help them explore new business models will be super popular in the Metaverse space. Digital experiences just like physical in-store experiences will find its way into the Metaverse. So strategists to help with that transition and how to position a business within the Metaverse will be high in demand.

There are many Metaverses out there, not all Metaverses and places within a Metaverse are perfect for your business. Strategists will aspire to find the right fit for your product, may that be in Decentraland, Sandbox, Wilder World or somewhere else.

4. Metaverse Analyst

Field of Expertise: Analyses user behaviour, gives recommendations on improvements

If you want to know how your business performs normally you’d turn heads to the controlling/analytics expert. Analysing engagement with businesses inside the Metaverse will be at the forefront of smart-decision making.

Businesses such as The Graph and Covalent are starting to provide heaps of analytics data via powerful APIs that can be facilitated to analyse the performance of NFTs, blockchain transactions & more.

Finding out early what works and what does not will give you insights into what to build and what not. Competition will be high once everyone gets on the bandwagon so you want to make sure that you get that competitive advantage over all the other vendors.

5. Metaverse Marketing Manager

Field of Expertise: Seeks best marketing opportunities within the Metaverse

The Metaverse offers huge opportunities for advertisement. It will challenge and change how digital Marketing is done.

Businesses will look to get their advertisement in front of customers just like they would pay for a sponsored facebook post to appear on your timeline or a billboard on Times Square. To find those perfect spots for businesses you will need a Marketing specialist that can seek the best opportunities for your business and find the right audience to get your advertisement in front of.

Cathy Hackl, Chief Metaverse Officer and CEO of metaverse-focused consulting agency Futures Intelligence Group, said that “Every brand and company will need a metaverse strategy”. Part of that strategy needs to be the focus of personalisation. The Metaverse will be a vibrant hub for brands and businesses to show their service offering, provide new experiences and attempt to cater to ever-changing user needs. The Metaverse Roblox for example is already attracting brands such as Nascar and Hyundai to use interactive ads.
