Wellbeing and the Founder
You build what you are”. Under this statement is The Personal Development Program (PDP) developed especially for the TTA founders by Evolution.
Wellbeing and Tech Entrepreneurs, Innovators and Leaders from all over the world will be part of our first cohort, starting next month. All of them have something in common: they are shaping the future of Wellbeing and the Human Mind. They are making the world a better place by transforming human possibility; and this transformation should start from the inside out.
Helping others shouldn’t require sacrificing your own wellbeing. This is, however, exactly what happens to those that are facing daily challenges when leading entrepreneurial projects on the front line. Often as an entrepreneur your list of priorities changes and your own health might lag behind the growing responsibilities and end up in the last position.
Your business is based on you, it is a reflection of you. Your mind, your creativity, your motivation, your ability to execute, your belief in your business, your belief in yourself, your ability to communicate…. This will result on finding yourself under immense pressure in several occasions.
From the outside, you have to have to be extremely focused on your ongoing and non-stop duties: employees, customers, deadlines, stakeholders… even your friends and family who worry about you and don’t understand what you’re doing. However, if that’s not enough, you put huge pressure on yourself to “succeed”. You have an immense fear of failure, you have the feeling that you’re not working hard enough, you eat too much or too little, you don’t get enough sleep. You fail to exercise. You end up getting into a “super-human” mode, where you push yourself and abuse your body.
Founders’ emotional wellbeing is not a hot topic and it’s been completely neglected in the startup discourse. After all, this culture assumes that successful entrepreneurs can just deal with things on their own. Successful entrepreneurs achieve hero status in our culture. But that’s not how it works. Many of those entrepreneurs went through immense struggles before they made it big.
The startup culture is escalating the problem of poor mental health quality, by encouraging people to disregard their own emotional, physical and psychological needs on behalf of their companies.
While this might mistakenly seem admirable, founders are burning themselves out. And nobody talks about that. It’s easy to forget that the only way you can truly serve others and show up completely is if you make “you” your number one priority. Your mind is your most important asset.
Working in the TechTrans Industry means that you will spend most of your time thinking about and focusing on others. At TTA, we see here an incredible opportunity to foster a cultural change oriented towards inner wellbeing and the optimization of the mind for having a positive impact in the world and addressing great social challenges.
Thanks to our amazing partner and sponsor: Evolution, 10 of our entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to experience a huge shift in their strengths. They will receive personal and professional support to develop a change in their levels of consciousness that will have an impact not only at the individual and personal level, but will also have an effect on their company, their relations and the culture in general.
At TTA, we will be working with entrepreneurs, leaders and innovators around the world with a pressing need for support with their wellbeing. We want to put this personal aspect in the front line and prioritise it. First, because a founder’s mental health is one of the most significant indicator of success for a young business, but most importantly, because it shapes the social change itself.
There is nothing more true than the fact that wellbeing inspires welldoing. If you want to be part of the change, apply here!
