Transformative Technologies Overview
Transformative Technologies is a movement headed up by Co Founders Nichol Bradford & Dr Jeffrey A Martin out of San Francisco to be the world’s largest ecosystem dedicated to supporting Entrepreneurs and Innovators developing Transformative Technologies (TT).

What is Transformative Tech about? Technology to support mental health, emotional wellbeing, and human thriving. It’s taking the tech that has taxed our thinking and relationships and use it instead to transform our hearts and minds.

TT Global has a vision to collectively, through every transformative tech product and service, to support 2BN people flourish mentally and emotionally by 2050.

Here is how Transformative Technologies see the world and this opportunity:

Future Basics — we call it this because we’d like to see a world where everyone has the skills for mental, emotional health, and happiness. What many people don’t realize is that these are skills, and are TRAINABLE. People can be taught how to have this.

Future of Work — the new jobs will be defined by human interaction, problem solving, & creativity, for which social emotional skills are vital.

Future Human — imagine a world where people can truly flourish and fulfill their potential?!

What’s happening in Australasia

Our mission locally is to build the Australasian TT ecosystem to support Australasian TT entrepreneurs and innovators building Transformative Technologies and companies find feedback, funding and friends as part of the global ecosystem and vision.

Efforts to date have been focused around identifying TT companies and stakeholders, forming a drivers team and hosting a series of events to help:

  1. Understand our existing TT companies and what they need
  2. Showcase these companies
  3. Attract resources, and
  4. Build awareness around the Transformative Technology movement to encourage others to build Transformative Technologies and companies.

Government engagement / support

To date as a project through The Space Australasia, TT Australasia has received support by way of funding from the Australian Government under its Entrepreneurs’ Programme.

With the support of the Australian Government, in May 2019, well known north Queensland startup expert from Cairns start-up hub theSPACE and lead driver for TT Australasia, Troy Haines took an outgoing external secondment to the Transformative Technology Lab (TTL) based in San Francisco to receive specialist TT startup mentoring from key personnel. The TTL is based in the United States and is the only one of its kind in the world. Knowledge, techniques, skills and other advanced learning will be transferred through Troy to Australian based entrepreneurs and innovators through a series of presentations, workshops & mentoring.

We hope to use this as the foundations to gain further support from local, state and federal governments in the coming months to continue to grow the ecosystem.

Companies to watch

As part of this quarterly review, the following Australasian based TT companies have been highlighted as companies to watch as they move into a growth phase:

FocusBand

The FocusBand is a wearable brain technology platform to the Sport and Mental Health Markets. The hardware was designed to be worn while in motion during harsh sporting environments and everyday tasks for mental health.

FocusBand’s suite of apps and cloud based EEG reporting with soon to be released integrated Ai bot powered interventions to help tackle the ever growing mental health and performance issues the world is facing today.

Henry Boulton is the Co Founder & Chief Innovation Officer at FocusBand, view one of Henry’s most recent presentations at a Transformative Technology meetup below.

Positive Prime

After years of applying cutting-edge technology to the most compelling findings in neuroscience and positive psychology, Positive Prime (PP) has pioneered a solution to the challenge of personal change — a transformational app designed for the busy on-the-go person! A Positive Prime “session” is a short audio-visual presentation — think of it as a vision board on steroids, created by great achievers and thinkers.

100% monthly growth means PP Member numbers are doubling. PP’s growth is being fueled in part by a new referral program and introduction of gamification to facilitate compliance / usage. Positive Prime are currently focused on securing additional promotional partners & affiliates for their consumer offering. For their organisational efforts, they have made significant inroads to partner with a major player in the North-East of the USA that could see Positive Prime integrated into 4000 company’s EAP, Internal Wellness & HR programs. They are also actively pitching for Educational Program rollouts. Check out Kim Serafini’s Transformative Tech presentation below.

Conpago

Conpago is a Brisbane-based startup that develops creative solutions to help seniors stay healthy and active in their community. With a digital community platform, the company builds thriving care communities while helping aged care providers to deliver high quality care. Conpago has been taking Australia by storm, as they are signing on customers across interstate Australia, pitched as finalists in the RiverPitch Live in Sydney for 100+ investors, and launched their first AgeTech conference. Conpago has recently announced a seed investment round, opening up a chance for investors to get in early in the ageing opportunity.
