Logging Interface Configuration

Once a study is created you are free to configure the settings for the interface by accessing the “Interface Settings” window accessible from the “Study Details” window. The settings on this window are for the specific study, i.e., these are not global setting applied to all studies. The figure shows the “Interface Settings” window.

As the figure shows there are four options that can be configured. The first three options control whether or not certain items of the interface are visible. These items are u-turns, pedestrians, and vehicle types.

When any of the first three switches are off, then the corresponding element will not be shown in the logging interface.

The purpose of providing these configuration options is to allow the user to have the cleanest interface possible for the needs of a particular study. For example, if u-turns are not of interest to the study and are ultimately classified as left turns then the spacing between the buttons will be larger and make the process simpler. The same applies to the other configuration items. The next two figures show the effects of turning off some of the items in the interface settings window.

The Vehicle Type Reset Setting

The last setting on the interface settings window, “Vehicle Type Reset After Every Event” controls the behavior of the vehicle classification. By default, if the active vehicle type is changed to something other than 1 then after a vehicle movement is logged the active vehicle goes back to 1. If the aforementioned setting is turned off then the active vehicle remains active unless changed by the user.
