Before your next domestic flight purchase, understand the differences.

Misleading lower fares, have left a rude awakening for many travelers. What use to be a customary part of flying is now a luxury , but for only those willing to spend. Here’s how to determine the difference between the economy fares.

  • Basic Economy-This Non-refundable, Non-changeable fare strips all the extras. There are charges for checked luggage and sometimes even carry-ons, no advanced seat assignments, no earned Frequent Flier miles, not even a upgrade purchase is allowed.
  • Standard (Main)Economy- This next fare up may include, 1 checked bag, meals, seat assignment, and the other stuff you’ve expected for years, like a personal item and carry-on bag.
  • Economy Comfort (Names differ)- while the same “standard” frills apply, you are given 3 to 6 inches more leg room.
  • Premium Economy- Seats are several inches wider. Upgraded meals, and even separate boarding lines are offered, with at least one free checked baggage.
Determine which economy fare fits your travel needs.

Suggestions:
Basic Economy can be a huge savings and completely doable, just pack smart and check-in 24 hours prior to departure to book your best seat. The fare difference may be $100, or even several hundreds. If the extra comfort and convenience take precedence, make sure to price compare.

Ultimately, You’ll want to read the fare details, then determine your priorities and always calculate what it will end up costing in the end. Travel Smart by making an informed decision.

Make the most of your travels.
