Goa

Goa is the land of sun, sea and sand.

We started our Goa trip on 1st November 2012 by 4AM.
Route: Bangalore — Tumkur — Chitradurga — Davangere — Hubli — Dharwad — Molem — Ponda -Goa. I took Karwar route for returning- Goa — Karwar — Yellapur — Hubli — Davangere — Chitradurga -Tumkur — Bangalore. After Darwad, road is not in good condition, so I suggest Karwar route for Goa trip from Bangalore.

Due to Cyclone Neelam, it was raining for the first 580 kilometers and we dropped our plan to visit Doodh Sagar waterfalls on first day and we went directly to Old Goa.

Let us start our photo journey here — Let us first explore the old churches of Old Goa.

Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa. This world heritage monument holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier.

Then was the trip to Dudh Sagar waterfalls(~60km from Panjim). We drove to Colem and took Jeep Taxi from there. We have to cross 2 rivers. Due to Cyclone Neelam, water level was high and crossing second river was very risky.

A round of applause for the Jeep driver for successfully crossing the river
All the drivers (and passengers) were not so lucky!
Mahindra Bolero was the most successful vehicle there in crossing the river.

Due to uncertainty of water level after 1 hour, we didn’t cross this river and so didn’t see Dudh Sagar falls.
