My experience of managing flights with American Airlines!
As a woman in her early sixties, I am not confident with my technology skills, especially with flight bookings. I had always relied on my kids to do my flight bookings. The only thing I was good at was carrying my passport and my ticket and got myself to the correct terminal. But things changed in 2020, the time I spent in self-isolation opened my eyes to my self-induced limitations. As soon as the lockdown was lifted, I decided to visit my family living in a different state from me. But this time I did not ask my kids to book flights for me. I did it myself. I have always travelled with American Airlines and liked their crew. So, with nothing to lose, I decided to book my flight with American Airlines. I opened their official website. The home page looked pretty simply to work with.
I clicked on Find Flights and saw a lot of information I needed to fill in. I entered my Departure and arrival city first. Then I entered dates of my departure and arrival, along with the time of day I am comfortable (I entered All Day). I clicked on the button that said Search by — “Lowest Fare”. Not only the process was simple and easy to follow, I even got a great deal on my return flight. I took a deep breadth after making the payments with my credit card. Now only thing that was left was to pack my bags and surprise my family and see their beautiful families.
As luck would have it, the government imposed the lockdown again. As a result, I had no option but to reschedule my flight again. The confidence with which I did my booking came crumbling down. I took a deep breadth and thought to myself; “How hard can it be? I can do it”. So, I retraced my steps again, opening the official site of American Airlines to finding my flight. Although the process looked easy enough to follow through, I thought it would be better to call the Customer Service and see if they can help me. If not then I can always rely on my kids to handle it for me. I found the number of Customer Service on the site itself. With apprehensive mindset I dialed the number. Now I want to confess that I am a shy introvert and try to avoid any sort of communication with strangers. I steer clear of small talks at parties and would come up a million excuses to bail out early. So, its safe to safe that making that call was big deal for me.
To my surprise, a kind assuring voice picked up the call. I felt instantly relaxed. The agent said her name was Ellie and that she would be happy to solve my query. I told her my predicament and why I wish my flight would get postponed. She calmly listened to it and asked my flight number and told me to relax as she gets a hundred calls asking the same thing. After a few minutes she returned on the call and rescheduled my flight with no hiccups. I was really impressed with American Airlines Manage Booking, I never thought it would be this easy. I recommend American Airlines Manage Booking to everyone who really want it easy.
