✊🏻 Strong Viking obstacle run

Vikings never quit.
We leave no Vikings behind.

I’ve been training for this run for 15 weeks (I never run before), and been waiting to be spiritually ready even more. Today I’ve made it. We’ve made it.

So, basically, it is a long distance with obstacles, which you have to run with your team. You can’t do it yourself, because a lot of obstacles require help: like a too tall wall, storming-a-castle obstacle.

You get there, you register,

change your clothes, and wait for your time.

10 mins before the warmup starts, with screaming, smoke machines and flamethrowers, this is where you don’t take a camera, so you just can believe me.

We were extra lucky with the weather, which was extremely nice for the second part of the run, where you need
- crawl in mud
- make your way through 200 meters of mud reaching till the neck
- crawl again under a tent (what?)
- overcome a canal

Oh, such a good times! My favorite obstacles were running with a shield and a hammer, throwing a hammer and muddy obstacles for sure!

When you’re back — you’ll get your beer right at the finish line, Viking T-shirts, and a nice picture will be taken:

On the picture we only look nice, but we are totally wet, the mud is even in between buttcheecks, many bruises and scratches, and a little bit tired.

Then you get to locker rooms, take a shower and change to warm, dry and clean clothes. You can’t imagine this feeling. Hang on for a second and just try to feel this sensation. And the shower — it was just a hose with cold water outside.

And the last thing you do there — you drink in Valhalla!

Lessons learned:

  • Buy proper tickets for the public transport (yeah yeah, Nikolay Maliarenko, I got it, alright? )
  • Don’t forget printed tickets at home
  • Don’t remove your shoes during the run
  • Keep training for Iron Viking
