Pack Britax Go Big² for safe air travel: Bugaboo Comfort Transport Bag

Our little one is almost 5 months old. Time for his first trip. We are flying to Andalucia, Spain. It’s just a short trip within Europe, but there is a lot to pack for a baby. Today I want to show you our solution to transport our Britax Go Big² pushchair.

We decided on the Britax Go Big², because it’s predecessor was the highest rated pushchair ever by the renowned Stiftung Warentest review of 2017. And we love it’s easy handling and design. We also chose the soft carrycot over the bulky prambody. It’s so handy to just take the carrycot into a restaurant and have a cozy place for the little one to sleep.

Unfortunately there is no transport bag specifically for the Britax. So I did some research and found several options. We decided to give the Bugaboo Comfort Transport Bag a chance. And it fits perfectly.

How to pack the Britax Go Big² into a Bugaboo Transport Bag

First unfold the bag on the floor and release all the inner straps.

Remove the wheels with the one push system and place them into the cargo hold of the Britax pushchair. Put the front wheels in the front and the back wheels in the back, slighly overlapping.

Fold the seat and then the whole pushchair to its compact position.

You can then add the soft carrycot and fold the handle.

Fasten the inner straps and close the transport bag starting at the bottom.

The result is a compact package, ready to fly.

Its a bit bulky and quite heavy, but it has wheels and normally you would only pack it at the gate, so it’s secured when it goes into the cargo hold and then immediately unpack after landing. It can then by transported in the cargo hold of the Britax Go Big².

We paid €111, which is a bit pricey, but so is everything from Bugaboo. And the resale value is quite good, as I saw used ones for €80. The look and feel is also great.
