If you are going to Masai Mara from Egypt this will be all the information you need to make this trip easy and fascinating

You can check my earlier post about Traveling to Kenya from Egypt for more information about these trip

Masai Mara Transportation from Egypt

While booking your initial Kenya trip you should know when are you going to Masai

This will be the main factor if you arriving late then going to Masai direct. Or will you stay in a hotel for a couple of nights in Nairobi

During our trip, We Stayed in Talek Bush Camp

Transportation to Masai Mara can be made either by land or by air

Transportation to Masai Mara by land (car)

It’s easy, once you decide which camp you will be staying in. Just contact the camp and they will send you a car to pick you from Nairobi and drive you all the way to Masai

The trip takes almost 3 hours, the first part of the trip is easy.. A good highway that drives you all the way to Narok which is the nearest city to Masai.

Then from Narok, you switch cars to a 4x4 game drive, because the rest of the road will be very bumpy.

While we were commuting the second half we saw them building new roads which is much easier. So hopefully you will not face the African Massage we had.

Transportation to Masai Mara by flight

The other way to Masai is taking a flight from Nairobi that lands directly inside the Masai Mara Conservative. It obvious that it’s more comfortable and more expensive than the land drive.

Masai Mara Camps from Egypt

To stay in Masai Mara you have many options, from regular camps to luxurious hotels.

We chose a middle camp which was recommended by Freinds. Talek Bush Camp is owned by Mustafa an Egyptian who quit the corporate life in Dubai and moved to this camp with his wife.

Me and Mustafa on my last day in the Camp

The camp is very beautiful, tents that look like Tarzan tent and everything thing around you looks like it’s a The jungle movie set.

When you reach the camp Mustafa personally greets you and brief you about the camp rules

  • Times of Breakfast, lunch, and Dinner
  • Times of electricity.. Yes, it’s a Conservative in the middle of nowhere. Electricity is not available all the time.
  • Times of hot water. Again it’s a Conservative
  • The schedule of the coming days
  • Safety, humans are safe.. But animals are not, there is a personal guard in front of the tent to make sure no animals attack you

You will enjoy yo stay in Masai, safaris every morning and just chilling in the camp every night. It was a fully packed 3 days.

Then we moved to Mombasa to continue our adventure
