The current situation with Diesel in Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, the sulfur content in Diesel can reach 50 ppm. [1] Unfortunately, none of the major gas stations sell ULSD at 15 ppm.

So what are your options?

Costa Rica does not have many brands for their gas stations. Outside of cities, you will mostly find independent gas stations.

None of the gas stations visited gave any indication of the sulfur content in their Diesel. Generally, only one type of Diesel is being sold.

Uno is one of the more well-known brands you might encounter in Costa Rica. They also don’t provide any details about the sulfur content and only sell one type of Diesel.

Going north or south?
