5 workshops to reboot in 2018
For me, nothing beats a craft night with a group of girlfriends around a bottle of wine. Those moments away from screens and work, learning something new and fun, experiencing “aha moments” together, whilst sharing our latest adventures have been precious in my life as an expat.
Having recently moved to Berlin, the first thing i did was looking for creative workshops. The city, an absolute hive for creatives and makers, offers such a multitude of experiences in food, fashion, well-being, arts and crafts, that you just want to try them all!
Forcing myself to be a reasonable grown-up, i have put my FOMO on silence and selected 5 workshops i feel will help me kick-off the new year ‘aligned with myself and my aspirations’.
1) Candle Making
This wintery, christmassy December vibe has made candles lightning a key part of my evening routine. To prolong this warm feeling into the new year, i would love to try one of the DIY candles making workshops from Garden State Candles. Using natural wax and essential oils, in a lovely cosy atmosphere (see picture above), it sounds like a treat for all your senses.
2) Astrology
Adding spirituality to my life is my most important personal goal for 2018, so the workshops from Inner Doorways inevitably appeals to my mystical side. Nicole is a spiritual consultant and transformation coach using tools like Astrology, Tarot, Sound Healing. Although i have no idea what Sound Healing means, it definitely got me intrigued to find out.
3) Vision workshop
If you are among those who believe that planets need a little nudge to align in your favour, you could start with aligning yourself in a Vision workshop from The Conscious Collective — combining Yoga, Meditation and systemic Coaching, they help people who feel they want to get more out of life, are in a transition phase or feel stuck in their current state.
4) Homemade skincare
Believe me or not but reducing my share of plastic waste is another major new year resolution! That’s why i will for sure enjoy learning to make my own skincare and natural cosmetics at the Green atelier. Body scrub, fresh Eye roll on or Hair Masks are one of their upcoming workshops. Pampering yourself whilst taking care of the planet..sounds pretty perfect to me!
5) Drawing
As a mum of a 2 years old, being able to draw a dog that does not look like a bear would be a big plus when trying to share my love for creativity with my daughter. Unfortunately, my last attempt at drawing goes back to primary school. So i was so happy when i discovered the workshops from “To Draw is to See” who can help late bloomers like me to rapidly gain basic drawing skills!
