What to expect?

Horse riding in a film decor

We all know horse-riding in the midst of nature is really cool. But being able to do it on the kilometers long beaches is even better. This retreat will be all about embracing your passion in the best conditions possible. We prepared for you two very exclusive horse-riding excursions, that will tickle your inner adventurous rider.

Alongside the equestrian activities, you will get to see and feed the colorful habitants of this region (hint: they are pink and fabulous).

Connect with like-minded passionates

The beauty of this retreat relies in the opportunity to connect with women who share the same passion. While sharing meals on the beach, having a drink or riding off the sunset you will bond faster than you think and share something that you love. And here at Travelogue, we thrive for those friendships born from shared interests that wouldn’t be if it was not for this passion.

If you’re feeling extra*

  • 1 extra horse ride on Sunday (on demand)

*all extra activities are free of charge, if you are interested just ask the organizer.

Where?

The Camargue, situated in Provence is the biggest nature reserve in France. It is particularly known for its equestrian tradition, as they use it in agriculture but also for horseback riding. The landscapes, an association between sweet and salty water, result in a unique fauna and landscape, that make it a truly special place. See below, the capital of the Camargue, Les Saintes.

The hotel or “Mas” (french to designate a countryside house or a farm) is an Institution when it comes to horse riding in this region. The movie Crin Blanc, an absolute reference for French horse-enthusiasts, was shot there, and the location is regularly used for fashion photoshoots. The property has its own stables and horses, a pool, is surrounded by water and 🍒 on top flamingos are goofing around the property, pretty idillic right?

How we give back

Wherever we go during our Travelogue Retreats we want to take a moment to give back to the people, or the environment that is welcoming us during our journey. We want to commit ourselves to a more conscious way of traveling and be aware of the impact we can have even with little actions. For this retreat, we will take an hour to pick up plastic debris on the beach.

With who?

Ariane is a French travel writer and photographer. She was born and
bred in the South of France, and when she’s not traveling the world,
she still lives there to this day. She’s passionate about Provence’s
culture, history and traditions, and she wrote several books about
Provence in which horses are always to be found. She’s been riding
since early childhood, and found in Mas Cacharel a magical place for
horse lovers, in the heart of a truly authentic and wild region where
horses are at home. She speaks French, English and German and loves to
share her stories. You can follow her adventures on her travel blog
