It’s been a while since I shared TravelRank updates with you folks!

Seven months ago we shipped the very first version of the product to the public. We got some early traction and, most important, lots of valuable product insights from you, our audience.

Since then we worked hard on some of the most critical requests that our users highlighted:

  • smoother onboarding with fewer steps to the Recommendations
  • more content on Destination pages

Brand New Recommendations Page

We took away the Personalized Recommendations widget from the Destinations page and replaced it with the brand new Recommendations section beautifully redesigned.

What’s inside

  • Top-10 travel recommendations to narrow down the list to just the best matching options
  • More info comes with the flight pricing, like the date and the currency switching options (USD, EUR, GBP).
  • You could change the departure airport or dates the recommendations are based on
  • Every recommendation comes with new inspirational images from the destination to have a better feeling of what you could expect from traveling there

New Content on Destination

Talking to early product adopters we realized that showing the travel destinations in recommendations is not enough. Users have been looking for more information about why they want to travel there, like sights and things to do. So we added more content and completely revamped the Destination page.

What’s inside

  • Sights List and Map view to find top things worth traveling there
  • Sights Details page where you could find more details about the point of interest and link where you could book it online on Musement
  • Flight list with filtering options like number of stops, return or one-way flight, or number of passengers, and booking link to our partner kiwi
  • Redesigned weather chart, with more insights on average temperatures for the suggested date range

Global Updates

You could easily notice that we readjusted the entire site design to the newly added sections so it’s in Dark mode now. Top navigation was replaced with the snackbar navigation for better UX and usability on smaller screens.

More updates are coming soon! Stay tuned.
