Traveltech Directory Discovery Session December 2020: Event Recap
Traveltech for Scotland held its first Traveltech Directory Discovery Session on Wednesday 9 December 2020.
Traveltech for Scotland, together with Karin Gidlund and Megan McGurren, the tourism professionals behind the directory’s development, showcased the new interactive traveltech directory resource to over 50 attendees in its first Discovery session.
After introductions from Josh Ryan-Saha and Lesley Judge from Traveltech for Scotland, Karin and Megan introduced the aims and objectives of the directory and provided a detailed demonstration of how it can be used to find innovative tech solutions, particularly by tourism businesses.
Looking for a booking or ticketing solution? Find not only a variety of platform providers but also a practical case study; for example, outlining how a visitor attraction has worked with a booking platform, the impact and benefits, approximate costs, development time and more.
Browsing the directory is not only is an education in terms of the incredible technologies available to tourism and hospitality businesses right now, but a reminder of the impressive level of innovation in Scottish traveltech, alongside their UK and overseas counterparts in the 100+ company listings and 50+ industry case studies. From food and drink ordering and online training platforms, innovative apps for training front of house staff in wine service, to customer intelligence insight tools and contactless solutions, the solutions are diverse.
Right now, just like the original Scottish Tourism Toolkit, the new Traveltech Directory offers a practical, informative, and interactive resource, devised and developed by tourism people for tourism people. Our growing traveltech community has also recognised opportunities for collaboration within the directory; with real potential to inspire new connections and further innovation: surely a win-win for our future customers and visitors.
