Undoubtedly one of Delhi’s most popular tourist destinations in Central Vista Avenue, which runs from the Rashtrapati Bhawan to the India Gate. It is utilized for our country’s Republic Day parade and a number of other formal events that highlight the capital city to the outside world.

From the Viceroy’s House to the All India War Memorial, The Avenue is a 3-kilometre-long tree-lined length that is bordered by green areas and water canals. It was constructed using outstanding urban planning tools, such as a strong axis (from the ridge of Raisina Hill to the Yamuna river), an accentuated focal point, the construction of major nodes, and a defined ending point.

Following independence, the streets on Central Vista Avenue were renamed: King’s Way became Rajpath and Queen’s Way became Janpath. The Viceroy’s House was renamed Rashtrapati Bhavan, while the All India War Memorial was renamed India Gate. These Central Vista structures stand out as outstanding monuments of the Republic of India.
